The Faculty of Mining, Ecology, Process Control, and Geotechnologies (FBERG) boasts a long mining tradition and a history of higher education dating back to 1762. This heritage is internationally recognized in the Declaration of Successors of the Spiritual Heritage of the Mining Academy in Banská Štiavnica.
FBERG offers education in traditional mining disciplines and in-demand programs in geodesy, geographic information systems, geology, geotechnologies, environmental technologies, raw material extraction and processing, industrial logistics, resource management, renewable energy utilization, rescue and safety equipment, and geotourism development.
FBERG also emphasizes extracurricular activities for students, including matriculations, excursions, sports, and participation in traditional events such as the "Salamander Days" and the "Jump Over the Skin" at the annual miners’ ball "Barbora." Students can also engage in various student clubs organizing events for the faculty community.
